About Dr. Ashok Seth

Dr. Ashok Seth is the Chairman, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, and Chairman, Fortis Healthcare Medical Council, and serves as Adjunct Professor of Cardiology at J.N. Medical College (Aligarh Muslim University). With 40 years of leadership in interventional cardiology, he has significantly advanced the science, education, and practice of complex coronary and structural heart interventions in India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. Seth has led interventional cardiology for four decades, during which he has:

  • Performed more than 25,000 angioplasties and 60,000 angiographies
  • Pioneered multiple angioplasty techniques in India and Asia-Pacific, including Impella-supported complex angioplasties, TAVI, and Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)
  • Established and led centres of excellence and major national and international teaching programs
  • Served as President, Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC), and Past President, Cardiological Society of India (CSI)
